Quest For Lycos

This weekend it had been already 6 weeks since Saarlooswolfhond Lycos from the family Verbeeck from Belgium is lost. This is such a hardship for the family and they never gave up searching. Once in a while people in the area spotted him, but the notice came always a day, at the least, late.
So this weekend many of our members from our Association, the NVSWH, were asked to help out finding him along with our dogs. So we did! Everyone was searching a different designated area. The dogs also left their scent so Lycos can find his way home again by himself.
Lavinya and I walked for hours on end, from early morning till late at night.

On the next pic she is paying attention to which region we are gonna cover

In the morning Lavinya and I searched with Verbeeck's oldest daughter, Marijke, and her girl Tziga
The girls did a good job
And really took to eachother playing and having fun in between work

Good girls!
On a Sunday this area is abandoned, but we did meet these two horsemen and asked if they would look out for Lycos and handed out a flyer
I even enjoyed some folklore. This tree is called the 'Spooklinde', a Ghost Tree, and not for no reason. This tree was struck by lightning many times already and is supposed to be inhabited by trolls and pixies
Still, later, in the middle of the night, when I passed this tree with Ingrid, I did contact it
This is such a wonderful area with gorgeous interesting ancient places, so I combined my hobby with the search for Lycos

This sight was eery, they were digging out graves at an ancient cemetery (not at that present time of course)

On all the routes I walked I met many horses and also this donkey. They all were eager to make contact, so I petted them, but they also wanted to contact Lavinya and she was fine with that!

I passed this cute naughty horse many times
Back at the farm this girl was anxious for our arrival
After our return Lavinya and I went out on our own, again on foot (other members all went by car to search on foot much further away)
Lavinya is a real sniffer talent! She loves to track down things
Then suddenly she picked up something, I than heard noises too in the woods at the other side of the field... But than: BANG!!!!! Some hunter was shooting something... damn

At the farm little Alfa was waiting patiently till his folks returned from their search, he wasn't nervous at all!!!! They went out to search with his mom but were back already when I returned
Still, he was beat from this day full of impressions and emotion

So people, we had no luck yet, still many more people in the area are aware of it now and if you wanna know more about it all just press the words on this blog that are in a different colour

LOV~E~

Beach Vid

Quackjeswater & Beach by Yvon

The view
This very early morning Lavinya, Sorcia and I decided to tag along with Yvon and her dogs again.
And yes all these pic's are by her. These first few are from the Quackjeswater

Paparazzo Yvon stalked me and caught me in the act ;-}
The next gorgeous pic's are at the 2nd walk at the beach, in the meantime the sun had fully risenSorcia showed his great Chihuahua-power by persisting like a youngster
Navaho enjoyed both walks with us
Crazy Comanche is going crazy!

Lamoka is always crazy at this part of the beach!!! Comanche just loves it that his behaviour has such an effect on my girl

Now who is this stranger? "Nothing much", Lamoka thinks and pushes him aside while running...

Lavinya is having fun!
